Viewing an encrypted Microsoft Office document To view an encrypted Microsoft Office document from another computer, Privacy Manager must be installed on that computer. You must also restore the Privacy Manager Certificate that was used to encrypt the file. If your certificate has been lost, in order to view an encrypted Microsoft Office document, you must restore the Privacy Manager Certificate that was used to encrypt the file. A Trusted Contact wanting to view an encrypted Microsoft Office document must have a Privacy Manager Certificate, and Privacy Manager must be installed on his or her computer. In addition, the Trusted Contact must be selected by the owner of the encrypted Microsoft Office document. Advanced tasks Migrating Privacy Manager Certificates and Trusted Contacts to a different computer You can securely migrate your Privacy Manager Certificates and Trusted Contacts to another computer, or back up your data for safekeeping. To do this, back up the data as a passwordprotected file to a network location or any removable storage device, and then restore the file to the new computer. Backing up Privacy Manager Certificates and Trusted Contacts To back up your Privacy Manager Certificates and Trusted Contacts to a password-protected file, follow these steps: 1. Open Privacy Manager, and then click Migration. 2. Click Backup. 3. On the Select Data page, select the data categories to be included in the migration file, and then click Next. 4. On the Migration File page, enter a file name or click Browse to search for a location, and then click Next. 5. Enter and confirm a password, and then click Next. NOTE: Store this password in a safe place, because you will need it when you restore the migration file. 6. Authenticate using your chosen security login method. 7. On the Migration File Saved page, click Finish. Viewing an encrypted Microsoft Office document
To view an encrypted Microsoft Office document from another computer, Privacy Manager must be
