See IBM 4230 Printer Models 101, 1S2, 201, 2S2, 4S3, and 5S3 Operator Panel Instructions for the procedures to check or change each of the parameter values. Operating States Online - The printer is online when power is On (|), the power-on tests complete, and the printer is able to communicate with the computer. For the Models 101, 1S2, and 4S3, the Online indicator is On. Offline - The printer is offline whenever power-on tests are running or whenever the printer is in test mode (Operator Print Tests). For the Models 101, 1S2, and 4S3, the Online indicator is Off. Ready and Not Ready Ready - The printer is ready when you press Start and there are no error conditions. The printer can be ready and online or offline. Ready is indicated when the Ready indicator is On. See "Ready Indicator" on page 3-12 for more information. The printer displays READY unless an information message overrides ready or the printer is offline. Not Ready - The printer is not ready when you press Stop or when an error or operator intervention condition occurs. The printer can be not ready and online or offline. Chapter 3.
