Guideline for Training To introduce a new operator to the printer, use the following steps as a guideline. Change the steps, as needed, to suit your working environment and the operator's level of responsibility. 1. Show the operator this guide and discuss the contents of Chapter 1, "Setting Up the 4230 Printer." 2. Show the operator IBM 4230 Printer Models 101, 1S2, and 4S3 Quick Reference Guide or IBM 4230 Printer Models 201, 2S2, and 5S3 Quick Reference Guide (depending on the model installed) IBM 4230 Printer Models 101, 1S2, 201, 2S2, 4S3, and 5S3 Operator Panel Instructions and discuss the contents of each. 3. The power cord should be unplugged before connecting or disconnecting the signal cable. See Chapter 1, "Setting Up the 4230 Printer" for the proper sequence. 4. Show the operator how to install the forms device with emphasis on identifying the type of forms device (F1, F2, F3, or F4). Show the operator where the procedures are in Chapter 1, "Setting Up the 4230 Printer" or in IBM 4230 Printer Auto Sheet Feeder General Information (depending on the forms device installed). 5. Show the operator how to set the forms device number.
