Extras 240 Tip: When you have recorded sounds and speech, you can set them as ringing tones. See page 120. Recorder The Recorder allows you to record telephone conversations and voice memos. You can also listen to your recordings and other sound files. The maximum length of a recording depends on the available memory. You can open files that have been stored in the following file formats: .WAV, .AU, and compressed GSM encoded file format. Compression is done implicitly during the recording process. Recorder contains all the controls like Play, Stop, Pause, and Record that are typically found in recording equipment. Press Resume to continue after recording or playback has been paused. See Figure 102. Figure 102 You can change the volume level of the Recorder application by pressing the and keys on the Arrows key. You can also edit sound files by using the commands in the Edit menu. WARNING: Obey all local laws governing recording of calls. In some states it is unlawful to record a phone conversation without first advising all call participants.
