The display is turned on simply by opening the cover. The application that was active the last time the communicator was used is shown on the display. When you close the cover, the communicator interface saves all data and turns off its display. Note: When you press Close, switch to another application, or close the device cover, the Nokia 9290 Communicator saves all data automatically. Use the applications The buttons at the top of the keyboard start the corresponding applications. The application buttons are: Desk, Telephone, Messaging, Internet, Contacts, Calendar, Office, and Extras.
