Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean it. Wipe it with a soft cloth slightly dampened in a mild soap-and-water solution. Do not paint it. Paint can clog the device's moving parts and prevent proper operation. Use only the supplied or an approved replacement antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications or attachments could damage the communicator and may violate regulations governing radio devices. If the communicator, battery, charger or any accessory is not working properly, take it to your nearest qualified service facility. The personnel there will assist you and, if necessary, arrange for service. Accessory safety A few practical rules for accessory operation: • Keep all accessories out of the reach of small children. • When you disconnect the power cord of any accessory, grasp and pull the plug, not the cord. • Check regularly that any vehicle-installed accessories are mounted and are operating properly. • Installation of any complex car accessories must be made by qualified personnel only. • Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories that have been approved by the phone manufacturer. The use of any other types could invalidate any approval or warranty applying to the phone and could be dangerous. Reference information 289
