Connecting across multiple platforms 237 Connecting to a host computer through pcAnywhere CrossPlatform To start pcAnywhere CrossPlatform in Mac OS X ◆ Do one of the following: ■ In a Finder window, go to the /Applications directory, and then double-click pcAnywhere CrossPlatform. ■ In a terminal window, change directories to /usr/bin, and then type the following: ./pcAnywhere Connecting to a host computer through pcAnywhere CrossPlatform Symantec pcAnywhere CrossPlatform searches your local subnet for TCP/IP host computers that are waiting for a connection. You can also connect to a pcAnywhere host by manually entering the IP address or name of the host computer. You can broaden the host search to include additional subnets. See "Changing subnet settings for CrossPlatform host searches" on page 240. To connect to a host computer through pcAnywhere CrossPlatform 1 In the pcAnywhere CrossPlatform Session Manager window, on the File menu, click Connect. 2 In the pcAnywhere CrossPlatform window, do one of the following: ■ In the Enter IP address or host name to connect box, type the IP address or computer name of the host computer to which you want to connect. ■ In the Host Names list, select the host to which you want to connect. 3 Click Connect. If you want to keep the pcAnywhere CrossPlatform window open during the session, uncheck Close this dialog on connect before you connect. 4 In the Authentication window, in the Login Name box, type your logon name. 5 In the Password box, type your password. 6 Click OK. Symantec pcAnywhere CrossPlatform searches your local subnet for TCP/IP host
computers that are waiting for a connection. You can also connect to a pcAnywhere

To connect to a host computer through pcAnywhere CrossPlatform

In the pcAnywhere CrossPlatform Session Manager window, on the File menu,
