UTILITY screen q TYPE 2 This backup method allows new backup data to be added to media on which data was previously backed up. It is not possible to backup data that extends across multiple volumes of media. Before you can use this method to backup on previously-unused media, you must format the media manually. Tip! For details on the procedure for backing up songs, refer to Operation Guide "Chapter 16. Backing up and restoring songs." F MASTERING MODE Use the following two buttons to select the writing mode that will be used when you execute the Mastering function. q TEST button If this button is on, a test will be performed before writing data to the CD-R/RW media to see whether writing errors will occur. (Default= off) q WRITE button This turns data writing on/off. If the TEST button = on and the WRITE button = off, only the writing test will be executed. (Default= on) G CD BACKUP MODE Use the following three buttons to select the writing mode when backing up songs to CD-R/ RW media. q TEST/WRITE buttons These are the same functions as the MASTERING MODE 6 TEST/WRITE buttons. q COMPARE button When this button is on, the backup source song data on the internal hard disk will be compared with the backup destination data on the CD-R/ RW media after the data has been written. If for some reason the backup was not written correctly, an error message will be displayed when Compare is executed. 38 - Reference Guide

MASTERING MODE
Use the following two buttons to select the writ-

TEST button
If this button is on, a test will be performed
