Other Features of this Fax Restricting Communication To/From Specific Destinations (TX/RX Restriction) The TX/RX Restriction function allows you to limit to and from whom fax communication can be accomplished by making it necessary to meet specific conditions regarding certain passwords. More specifically, the passwords (Permit Fax Number and Permit ID) are registered in advance and TX/RX Restriction is turned ON. No special settings are required during the operation to transmit or receive faxes. When actual transmission or reception of documents begins, communications that satisfy the specific password conditions will be carried out and communications that do not satisfy these conditions will result in an error. If RX Restriction is set to Reject List, you can prohibit fax reception from numbers registered as Reject Fax Numbers, or from other party who does not register its local FAX Number in its own fax in advance. NOTE: Prior to using the TX/RX Restriction function, carefully read Prerequisites, Conditions Required for Successful Communication, and Reception Rejection Requirements below in addition to consulting with those parties to and from whom communication will be allowed. Prerequisites Conditions Required for Successful Communication TX Restriction • • • You must register Permit Fax Number or Permit • ID in your fax in advance.† (Refer to Registering New Permit Fax Numbers on page 5-50, or Registering New Permit IDs on page 5-52.) • You must select [Adr.Book + PermitList] on as the transmission restriction setting under TX/RX • Restriction. (Refer to Turning TX/RX Restriction ON/OFF on page 5-56.) The other party must register its local FAX Number or local ID in its own fax in advance. The Permit Fax Number registered in your fax matches the local FAX Number registered in the other party's fax. The Permit ID registered in your fax matches the local ID registered in the other party's fax. When you are transmitting documents and the other party's fax number is dialed with a one-touch key, the last 4 digits of the registered number matches the last 4 digits of the other party's local FAX Number (not applicable with Manual Fax Transmission). RX Restriction • • • You must register Permit Fax Number or Permit • ID in your fax in advance.†† (Refer to Registering New Permit Fax Numbers on page 5-50, or Registering New Permit IDs on page 5-52.) • You must select [Adr.Book + PermitList] as the reception restriction setting under TX/RX • Restriction. The TX/RX Restriction function allows you to limit to and from whom fax communication can be
accomplished by making it necessary to meet specific conditions regarding certain passwords.
More specifically, the passwords (Permit Fax Number and Permit ID) are registered in advance and
TX/RX Restriction is turned ON. No special settings are required during the operation to transmit or
receive faxes. When actual transmission or reception of documents begins, communications that
satisfy the specific password conditions will be carried out and communications that do not satisfy
