Removing the power backplane To remove the power backplane, complete the following steps. Power backplane connector 1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 35. 2. Turn off the server and all attached devices. 3. Disconnect all external cables and power cords. 4. Slide the server from the rack and place it on a flat, non-conductive surface. 5. Remove the power supplies from the power-supply bays (see "Removing a hot-swap power supply" on page 68). 6. Remove the cover (see "Removing the cover" on page 39). 7. Remove the fan-bracket assembly (see "Removing the fan-bracket assembly" on page 66). 8. Grasp the power backplane and slide it toward the right side of the server. 9. Disconnect the power cable from the hard disk drive backplane. 10. Lift the power backplane out of the server. 11. To
remove
the
power
backplane,
complete
the
following
steps.
Power backplane

Read
the

2.
Turn
off
the
server
and
all
attached
devices.
3.
Disconnect
all
external
cables
and
power
cords.
4.
Slide
the
server
from
the
rack
and
place
it
on
a
flat,
non-conductive
surface.
5.
Remove
the
power
supplies
from
the
power-supply
bays
(see
“Removing
a
hot-swap
power
supply”
on
page
68).
6.
Remove
the
cover
(see
“Removing
the
cover”
on
page
39).
7.
Remove
the
fan-bracket
assembly
(see
“Removing
the
fan-bracket
assembly”
on
page
66).
8.
Grasp
the
power
backplane
and
slide
it
toward
the
right
side
of
the
server.
9.
Disconnect
the
power
cable
from
the
hard
disk
drive
backplane.
10.
Lift
the
power
backplane
out
of
the
server.
11.
If
you
are
instructed
to
return
the
backplane,
follow
all
packaging
instructions,
and
use
any
packaging
materials
for
shipping
that
are
supplied
to
you.
