Removing the air baffle When you work with some optional devices you must first remove the air baffle to access certain components or connectors on the system board. The following illustration shows how to remove the air baffle. Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before turning on the server. Operating the server with the air baffle removed might damage server components. Riser card assembly Release tab Air baffle Release tab To remove the air baffle, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 35. 2. Turn off the server and all attached devices. 3. Disconnect all external cables and power cords. 4. Remove the cover (see "Removing the cover" on page 39). 5. Remove the riser-card assembly (see "Removing the riser-card assembly" on page 84). 6.
