Maintaining your settings 249 8. In the Enter a barcode value area, type the bar code value according to the requirements of the type of bar code that you selected. 9. Define variable information for a bar code (for example, the total number of booklets or the sheet number) by performing the following actions: a. Type the number sign # where you want to define a variable. b. In the table, select the bar code number, and then select the variable information that you want the bar code to include. c. (Optional) For variable information consisting of two or more digits, merge two or more adjacent bar code numbers by selecting the rows and clicking Join. d. Click Save. The bar code appears in the Code box Resource Center window. 10. Select the sheet on which you want the bar code to appear (the Front check box or the Back check box), or select both check boxes if you want the bar code to appear on both sides. 11.
