Installing the Rack Server 2. Press the rail against the side of the chassis and slide toward the rear of the server to snap and lock the rail into place. Figure 4-4: Attaching a server rail to the chassis IMPORTANT: Be sure that the first rail is firmly anchored to the chassis before attaching the second rail. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to secure the second rail to the server. Installing the Spring-Load Rack Rail Assembly in the Rack The spring-load rack rail assembly consists of a fixed outer rail and a sliding inner rail. The two rails are shipped as an assembly and do not require additional preparation. To install the spring-load rack rail assembly in the rack: 1. From the front of the rack, identify the rack holes on the outside of the front of the rack that you marked with the template. NOTE: Use either spring-load rail on either side of the rack.
