Configuring nodes and interfaces
Configuring appliance interfaces
About Networks tab fields
There is only one field on the Networks tab in the Edit Monitoring Interface
dialog box.
Table 8-4
provides information about the Monitored Networks field.
Editing a monitoring interface
This section gives the procedure for editing a 7100 Series monitoring interface.
To edit a monitoring interface
1
Right-click the interface object, and then select
Edit
.
2
In
Edit Monitoring Interface
, optionally enter a descriptive name for the
interface.
3
In
Customer ID
, optionally enter a descriptive customer ID.
4
In
Expected Throughput
, click a value in the pull-down list.
The selected value must be less than or equal to the bandwidth license for
this node.
See
“Licensing”
on page 91.
5
In
TCP Reset Interface
, click the reset interface in the pull-down list.
The selected reset interface must be cabled to access the monitored network.
See
“Cabling”
on page 49.
6
In
Description
, optionally enter descriptive text about this interface.
Expected Throughput
A drop-down menu that contains throughput ranges in Mbps
or Gbps to select from. Choose a value that fits within the
node’s bandwidth license.
TCP Reset Interface
The interface through which TCP resets will be sent. Provides
a drop-down menu on models 7160/7161, allowing you to
select from RST0, RST1, or RST2. These correspond to the
Ethernet reset ports on the appliance. The port you select
must be cabled correctly. The 7120 only has RST0.
Description
An optional description of the interface.
