Monitoring and reporting events and status 131 Monitoring appliance status The power LED glows when the appliance is powered on. The disk activity LED blinks when the hard drive is accessed. The network activity LEDs are activated only on the 7120 for ports eth1 and eth0 respectively. The temperature LED glows when the internal operating temperature gets too high. See "LED lights" on page 24. Viewing status on the LCD screen When the LCD panel is not in use, the LCD screen displays a rotating list of appliance health statistics. Screens with example values are: ■ Hostname: sns7161-1 This is the hostname of the appliance, a default is shown. ■ IP Address: 10.127.9.216 This is the IP address of the appliance. ■ Appliance Model: 7161 The model number is displayed. ■ SNS S/W version: 4.0 The version of Symantec Network Security that is running on the appliance. ■ CPU Temp(s) 32 34 The internal temperature of the CPU is displayed. For a 7160 or 7161, two values are shown for the two processors. ■ Free Memory: 5818496k This is the amount of RAM currently unused, in kilobytes. ■ CPU status: 91% idle This is the percentage of CPU capacity currently idle. ■ Disk usage: 9% used This is the percentage of hard drive capacity currently in use.
