188 Specifications and safety Product certifications Follow these precautions when installing and operating the 7100 Series in an equipment rack: ■ Ensure that the ambient temperature around the appliance is within the specified limits. ■ Ensure that there is sufficient air flow around the appliance. ■ Ensure that electrical circuits are not overloaded. Consider the power ratings of all connected equipment and ensure that you have overcurrent protection. Product certifications The Symantec Network Security 7100 Series appliances are designed to meet the following regulatory requirements for public safety: ■ UL and CSA Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment including Electrical Business Equipment (UL 60950, 3rd Edition and CAN/ CSA C22.2 No.60950-00). This Class A digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003. ■ VCCI ■ CE ■ FCC part 15B, Class A This device complies with Part 15B of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: ■ This device may not cause harmful interference. ■ This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. ■ EMC The products herewith comply with the requirements of the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC, both as amended by 93/ 68/EEC. ■ EN55022 (1998), Class A Emissions (Radiated & Conducted) ■ CFR 47, Part 15, Subpart B Class A, FCC Emission ■ ICES-003 Issue 2, Rev 1, Class A ITE Emissions ■ EN61000-3-2 (2000), Harmonics ■ EN61000-3-3 (1995), Flicker ■ EN61000-6-1 Immunity ■ EN61000-4-2 (1995), ESD: 8 kV AD, 4 kV CD ■ EN61000-4-3 (2002), RF Immunity: 10V/m, 80 MHz - 1 GHz
