You can download this free software from the Internet at: http://java.sun.com The package to download is called J2SE v1.4.2_04 JRE. Installation instructions are also available on the site. Note: If you install the console on a Windows system, the setup.exe installation file on the Management Console CD can install the JRE for you. Installing the console on Windows This section describes how to install the console on a Windows machine. You should close all other programs before running the console installer. To install the console on Windows 1 Insert the Management Console CD into the CD drive of the console system. 2 In a My Computer window, double-click the CD drive icon to access the CD. 3 Browse to the ./install/windows folder. 4 Double-click setup.exe. 5 In Symantec Network Security 4.0 Setup, click Next. 6 In Welcome, click Next. 7 In Symantec Software License Agreement, read the agreement, and then click Yes. 8 In Choose Destination Location, do one of the following: ■ Click Next to accept the default directory: C:\Program Files\Symantec\SNS ■ Click Browse to select a different directory, and then click Next. 9 In Select Components, click Next.
