4. Remove the two left-side mounting screws (callout 3). Reinstallation tip When reinstalling the scanner assembly top cover make sure that it is seated on the alignment pins (the plastic pin is behind the screw [callout 3] in the following figure). Figure 5-41. CAUTION Remove the scanner assembly top cover (3 of 4) 5. Lift up on the scanner assembly top cover to separate it from the base frame assembly. Separating the scanner assembly top cover from the base frame assembly might require considerable force. Be careful to not damage or drop either assembly when they separate. Figure 5-42.
