Resets Menu Reset options are available through the Resets Menu. Use the Resets Menu option with caution. Note You can lose buffered page data or printer configuration data when you select these options. You should only use it in the following circumstances: • You want to restore the default printer settings. • Communication between the printer and computer is interrupted. • You are using both the serial and parallel I/O ports, and one of the ports is having problems. See Figure 3-2, item I for the location of the Resets Menu on the Menu Map. Table 3-12 Resets Menu Items Menu Selection Printer Response MEMORY RESET CLEARING MEMORY FACTORY DEFAULT FACTORY DEFAULTS BEING RESTORED Explanation Press [Select] to perform a MEMORY RESET. This will clear the printer buffer and make the printer control panel defaults current. Press [Select] to perform a FACTORY DEFAULT. This restores most of the printer's factory default settings as it performs a simple reset. RESET ACTIVE I/O RESET ALL I/O Items in the Config, Memory Configuration, Parallel, and Serial Menus are not reset. MEMORY RESET clears only the active input buffer. RESETTING ACTIVE I/O Press [Select] to perform an RESET ACTIVE I/O. This clears the input and output buffers for the active I/O only and performs a simple reset. RESETTING ALL I/O Press [Select] to perform an RESET ALL I/O. This clears the input and output buffers for all I/Os and performs a simple reset. Resets Menu
Reset options are available through the Resets Menu.
Use the Resets
Menu option with caution.
Note

select these options.
