3. Move the Brightness slider to the left to make the image darker, to the right to make the image brighter. 4. Move the Contrast slider to the left to decrease contrast, to the right to increase contrast. 5. When the current image appears as you want it, click OK to accept the changes. Click Cancel. Adjusting the Color Balance You can adjust the color components of an image by changing the level of red, green, and blue colors that make up the shades in your image. To adjust the color balance: 1.
