Using the Launcher The Desktop Manager Launcher enables you to display a Desktop Manager document in another application in a specified file format. For example, dragging a document from a folder in the Desktop Manager to the Paint icon starts the Paint application and displays the selected document in a BMP file format. When you launch a document, a copy of the document appears in the application with a system-assigned name. If you save the document, it is saved with the system-assigned name in your C:\Windows\Temp folder. If you want to give the document a more meaningful name, use the Save As command. Any modifications made to the document are made to the copy, and not the original document stored in the Desktop Manager. You can also start an application (without displaying a document) by simply clicking on the application icon in the Launcher. Chapter 6 Utilities 6-25
