Page 43 highlights

Configuring Timeouts The SNMP Get timeout value controls the length of time PSV will wait for a response from the device before timing out. Keep in mind the greater the SNMP Get timeout value, the longer the overall discovery will take. SNMP Discovery Delay The SNMP Discovery Delay value can also be configured. This value sets the delay between each discovery request. This value may have to be tuned to suit the network configuration considering the number of devices being discovered. Status Icon Timeout The status icon timeout value sets the time interval that PSV waits for a response from a device before turning the status icon gray (status icon is displayed in the Printers List). Notice that after clicking Refresh, the status icons are returned to an active state. Enter a desired value for each option and click Save. Retry Interval / Retry Maximum Wait The Retry Interval / Retry Maximum Wait values can be configured, and may have to be tuned to suit the network configuration. Use DNS Addresses Use DNS Addresses translates IP addresses to DNS names if possible, and saves them in the PSV database. When a list of devices is displayed in other areas of PSV, you will see the DNS address name displayed instead of the IP address. This is particularly helpful when an organization uses DHCP. 43

Retry Interval / Retry Maximum Wait
The Retry Interval / Retry Maximum Wait values can be configured, and may have to be
tuned to suit the network configuration.
