80 3 System management tools • System Cleanup • BIOS Update • Shut Down Alerts The Alerts page allows you to specify whether or not you want the storage system to send out an e-mail notification when an error or warning occurs. To take advantage of this feature, you must have access to an SMTP e-mail server, either within your own network, or through an Internet service provider. Note: The e-mail might not be sent immediately when the problem occurs, but will be sent within five minutes of the event. An event will be sent out once per day until the problem is solved. In addition, if the problem is fixed within that time frame-for example, if you replace the disk that failed-the alert will not be sent.
