268 9 Troubleshooting I forgot the password for logging in to the IPStor Express Manager. You can reset the storage system to use its original administrator user name (admin) and password (storage) by pressing the reset pinhole on the storage system. Note: This also resets the storage system to its original network settings. If you previously configured the storage system to use a specific IP address, it will now obtain its IP address from the DHCP server (if any). If you don't have a DHCP server on the network, it will use its default IP address (192.168.0.101). For information about changing these settings, refer to "Changing the network settings" on page 167. In addition, pressing this button restarts the storage system, which might adversely affect user connections to shared folders. Be sure to do this only when users are not connected to shared folders or performing recovery. To reset the storage system: 1 Press the power button once to turn off the storage system. 2 Press the power button again to turn it on. 3 Turn the system around so that you have access to the back of the unit. 4 Insert the end of an unfolded paperclip into the opening, then press and hold the reset pinhole with the paperclip end. 5 The system restores to its original network settings. The default administrator user name and password will be restored.

I forgot the password for logging in to the IPStor Express
Manager.
You can reset the storage system to use its original administrator user
name (
admin
) and password (
storage
) by pressing the reset pinhole on
the storage system.
Note:
This also resets the storage system to its original network
settings. If you previously configured the storage system to use a
specific IP address, it will now obtain its IP address from the DHCP
server (if any). If you don’t have a DHCP server on the network, it
will use its default IP address (192.168.0.101). For information
about changing these settings, refer to “Changing the network
settings” on page 167.
In addition, pressing this button restarts the storage system, which
might adversely affect user connections to shared folders. Be sure
to do this only when users are not connected to shared folders or
performing recovery.
To reset the storage system:
1
Press the power button once to turn off the storage system.
2
Press the power button again to turn it on.
3
Turn the system around so that you have access to the back of the
unit.
4
Insert the end of an unfolded paperclip into the opening, then
press and hold the reset pinhole with the paperclip end.
5
The system restores to its original network settings. The default
administrator user name and password will be restored.
