173 2 In the left pane, click Disks. 3 In the Administrator password text box, enter your password for logging in to the IPStor Express Manager. 4 Click Reconfigure Disks. 5 When the confirmation message displays, click OK. The Disk Configuration page displays with various options, depending on the number of HDDs that are currently installed in the system. 6 Choose from the following disk configurations: • Data protection (RAID 5 - three disks minimum) • Data protection, failover (RAID 5 + spare - four disk minimum) • Data duplication (RAID 10 - four disks minimum) • Better performance, no data protection (RAID 0 - two disks minimum) • Expandable, no data protection (Linear - one disk minimum) Refer to "Disk configurations" on page 232 for more information about each RAID configuration. 7 To accept the default disk configuration (which will provide the best level of data protection available for the number of HDDs currently installed), click Next. By default, a linear disk configuration is used for a single HDD, RAID 1 is used for two HDDs, and RAID 5 is used for three or four HDDs. If you want to change the disk configuration, select the desired RAID level and then click Next. (For detailed information about the different RAID levels, refer to "Disk configurations" on page 232.) 8 To accept how the disk space will be proportioned for shared folders and backups (only 1 GB will be allocated for shared folders), click Next. If you want to allocate more space for shared folders, enter the number of gigabytes to allocate for shared folders (the minimum is 1 GB), then click Finish.
