242 8 Configuring the storage system Replacing a failed hard disk drive 1 Follow steps 1 and 2 of the "Removing hard disk drives or responding to disk failure"section. 2 Remove the HDD from the carrier. (1) Gently pry open the left side rail, as shown. (2) Remove the drive from the carrier. 3 Install the new disk into the HDD carrier. (1) Insert the new disk into the right side of the carrier aligning the pins into the disk's mounting holes. (2) Slightly bend the left side rail and insert the pins into the disk's mounting holes.

Follow steps 1 and 2 of the "Removing hard disk drives or
responding to disk failure"section.

Remove the HDD from the carrier.
(1)
Gently pry open the left side rail, as shown.
(2)
Remove the drive from the carrier.

Install the new disk into the HDD carrier.
(1)
Insert the new disk into the right side of the carrier aligning
the pins into the disk’s mounting holes.
(2)
Slightly bend the left side rail and insert the pins into the
disk’s mounting holes.
