Message INSTALL [COLOR] CARTRIDGE Type Error INSTALL [COLOR] Error PRINTHEAD INSTALL DUPLEX OR Error SIMPLEX UNIT INSTALL PRINTHEADS Error AND CLOSE COVERS Description The [COLOR] ink cartridge is either not installed or is installed incorrectly. Install the ink cartridge. If already installed, remove and reinstall it. Do this several times. If the problem persists, replace the ink cartridge. For more information about ordering ink cartridges, see "Ink cartridges" or visit http://www.hp.com. For instructions on replacing ink cartridges, see "Replacing ink cartridges." The printhead is either not installed or is installed incorrectly. Install the printhead, or open the printhead cover and put the printer in printhead replacement mode (See "Replacing printheads" for more information.) Remove the printhead. Verify that you are using the correct printhead, and then firmly reinsert it into the printer. If the message persists, clean the printhead contacts. (See "Cleaning the printhead contacts" for more information.) If more than one printhead is missing, the INCORRECT SUPPLIES message is displayed. The optional auto-duplex unit or the simplex unit is missing. One of these units must be installed before printing can proceed. See "Installing the auto-duplex unit" for more information. The printhead cover is open and the printer is in printhead replacement mode. Replace the printhead(s) and close the printhead cover. ENWW B-7
