Note Note 6-10 The printer can automatically detect some media sizes. When the printer detects the media size, only one size will appear in the TRAY 2 SIZE and TRAY 3 SIZE options. If the size displayed in the LCD control panel does not match the media you loaded in the tray, open the tray and make sure the media sits as far in as possible. Adjust the media width and length guides so they fit snugly but gently against the media stack. Close the tray. If the media size displayed in the LCD control panel still does not match the size in the tray, the media must be loaded as a custom size. If you are loading custom size media, you must configure the size in the LCD control panel. Also, if you are printing on media that does not match the media type setting for the tray, you must configure the media type in the LCD control panel. For more information, see "To set media size and type in the LCD control panel." To set media size and type in the LCD control panel 1 Press (select button) to enter the menus. 2 Press (down arrow button) to highlight PAPER HANDLING, and then press (select button). 3 Press (select button) to select TRAY X SIZE (where X = 1, 2, or 3). If the printer has the multipurpose tray installed, the multipurpose tray functions as Tray 1. 4 Press (down arrow button) or (up arrow button) to scroll through the media size list and highlight the desired media size. 5 Press (select button) to confirm the selection. 6 Press (down arrow button) to highlight TRAY X TYPE, and then press (select button). 7 Press (down arrow button) or (up arrow button) to scroll through the media type list and highlight the desired media type. 8 Press (select button) to confirm the selection. 9 Press (pause/resume button) to return the printer to the READY state. If you do not set all of the tray size and type settings, the printer prompts you to set the remaining options when you print a document. ENWW

The printer can automatically detect some media sizes. When the
