The names used to record the Notes on the PC are not terribly imaginative, as can be seen to the right. You must not change these names! They are recorded in the special files HP39DIR.CUR and HP39DIR.000 and the calculator will expect to find them under those names. Highlighting an existing Note and pressing the Copy button will produce a copy of the existing Note with the title "Copy of You can then change the title in the normal manner to anything desired. Calculator Tip The Connectivity software will allow you to enter a Note title of any length. In practice this will not work. If the name is more than 12 characters long then the calculator will truncate it in the display. For example, "Principles of Conductivity" will appear in the Note Catalog as "Principles o...". The final button allows you to delete a Note. Pressing it will result in a pop up dialog box asking you if you are really sure you want to do this. 254
