CAUTION CAUTION EIO cards and mass storage The printer has three EIO slots for expanding printer capabilities by installing the following accessories: q one or more network cards q a mass storage device, such as a hard disk For ordering information, see "Customer support options worldwide" on page 325, or go to http://www.hp.com/support/lj9500. To install EIO cards/mass storage If you are using one HP Jetdirect card or other EIO card, install it in the bottom EIO slot. Install a mass storage device in the top EIO slot. Follow this procedure to install an EIO card or a mass storage device: 1 Turn off the printer and remove the power cord before installing the EIO cards or mass storage device. Wait for the printer's cooling fans to turn off before removing the power cord (up to 30 minutes). 2 Use the graphic below to locate the slots for the EIO cards or mass storage device, such as a hard disk. .
