Supported types of media Note You can select the following types of media at the control panel and in the printer driver: • plain • preprinted • letterhead • transparency • prepunched • labels (see "Label construction" on page 102) • bond • recycled • color • light • heavy • card stock (see "Card stock construction" on page 102) • glossy (see "Glossy media" on page 105) • heavy glossy • non-HP heavy glossy • tough • envelope (see "Envelopes" on page 101) The printer uses heat and pressure to fuse the toner to the paper. Make sure that any colored paper or preprinted forms use inks that are compatible with the printer fusing temperature (200° C, or 392° F, for 0.1 second). To optimize print quality, it is important to match the media you are using with the media type configuration.
