Environmental product stewardship program Protecting the environment Hewlett-Packard Company is committed to providing quality products in an environmentally sound manner. This printer has been designed with several attributes to minimize impacts on our environment. The HP LaserJet printer eliminates: Ozone production This printer contains an ozone filter to protect indoor air quality. See "Image transfer kit" on page 185 for replacement intervals. The printer design reduces: Power consumption Power usage drops significantly while the printer is in PowerSave mode, which saves natural resources and saves money without affecting the high performance of this printer. This printer has been set at the factory to the power consumption settings (Energy Star® or Blue Angel) required by your country/region. For specifications, see "Power consumption" on page 302. This printer qualifies for ENERGY STAR®, which is a voluntary program to encourage the development of energy- efficient office products. ENERGY STAR® is a U.S.-registered service mark that is owned by the U.S. government. As an ENERGY STAR® Partner, Hewlett- Packard Company has determined that this product meets ENERGY STAR® Guidelines for energy efficiency. For more information, see http://www.energystar.gov/. Paper use This printer's optional automatic duplex feature (two-sided printing, see "Printing on both sides of paper (duplexing)" on page 126) and N-up (printing multiple pages per sheet) capabilities can reduce paper usage and the resulting demands on natural resources. This HP LaserJet printer also contributes to protecting the environment in the following ways: Plastics Plastic parts that weight more than 25 grams are marked according to international standards that enhance the ability to identify plastics for recycling purposes at the end of the printer's life. HP LaserJet Printing Supplies In many countries/regions, this printer's printing supplies (for example, print cartridges, image drums, and fuser) can be returned to HP through the HP Printing Supplies Returns and Recycling Program. An easy-to-use and free takeback program is available in more than 48 countries/regions.
