Service Calibrations The following is a list of all internal service calibrations available in the Printers. Instructions for entering the service calibrations menu are given on page 5-5. WARNING ALL THE COVER SENSORS ARE DISABLED WHEN IN THE CALIBRATIONS MENU. IF THE CARRIAGE IS MOVING IT WILL NOT STOP IF THE WINDOW IS OPENED, SO BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PUT YOUR HANDS INSIDE. 1 Carriage ' page 5-7 The purpose of this calibration is to calibrate the temperature from which the printhead has to be warmed. 2 Refill ' page 5-9 The purpose of this calibration is to ensure the correct position of the carriage assembly in respect to the refill assembly. 3 Line Sensor ' page 5-10 The purpose of this calibration is to calibrate the intensity of the line sensor in the carriage PCA. An incorrect calibration can result in edge-detection failures during media loading and incorrect reading of prints that are used for alignment or calibration. 4 Service Station ' page 5-12 This Calibration is no longer required and should never be performed. 5 Printheads Alignment ' page 5-13 The purpose of this calibration is to test and if necessary correct the misalignment between the printheads. This Calibration is necessary to avoid color misalignments and print quality defects like banding. 6 Printheads Check ' page 5-14 The purpose of this calibration is to check that the Nozzles of the Printheads are functioning correctly.
