Page 207 highlights

Chapter 13 MtcMon Messages IOPn.MtcMon Fault Handler status: Insufficient buffer space to retain all Fault Handling error detail; log data is incomplete. Severity Warning Description The fault information written to the MtcFh.hrl file is incomplete because the Fault Handler ran out of memory and could not log all the information. This message occurs if multiple fault messages or repeating fault messages occur immediately after the previous fault message is dismissed. Usually, a single fault cannot cause this condition to occur. However, if the fault condition was not completely resolved by the Fault Handler, memory for buffering the detail on successive message reports may be exhausted. Related Messages IOPn.MtcMon Fault handler status: Fault information dump. IOPn.MtcMon Fault Handler status: Received a bad Fault Handler control packet. Severity Error Description During the join process, the Fault Handler received a packet from the other IOP that was not recognizable or was improperly formatted. This may indicate that the software revisions of the MtcMon components on the two IOPs are not compatible. Related Messages None. Action • On receipt of this message, the joining IOP is removed. When it reboots, start the system in Offline Endurance I/O Processor mode. • Then use the Endurance Manager to view the revision levels of the MtcMon component on both IOPs to make sure they are identical. • If they are not identical, re-run your installation to make sure that the proper software is installed on both IOPs. • If there is no apparent revision incompatibility between the IOPs, contact your service provider for assistance. 197

Severity
Error
Description
During the join process, the Fault Handler received a packet from the other IOP that was not
recognizable or was improperly formatted. This may indicate that the software revisions of the
MtcMon components on the two IOPs are not compatible.
Related Messages
None.
Action
On receipt of this message, the joining IOP is removed. When it reboots, start the system
in Offline Endurance I/O Processor mode.
Then use the Endurance Manager to view the revision levels of the MtcMon component
on both IOPs to make sure they are identical.
If they are not identical, re-run your installation to make sure that the proper software is
installed on both IOPs.
If there is no apparent revision incompatibility between the IOPs, contact your service
provider for assistance.
