Chapter 4 MtcCEX Messages MtcCEX: Lost communications with boot IOP. Severity Error Description This message displays in a Windows NT blue screen on a monitor attached directly to a CE during CE operating system boot if the HP NetServer AA CE Transport loses its communication path to the IOP driving the boot process. The CE operating system boot terminates. Hardware/Software This message indicates a communications failure in the MIC subsystem. Action • Examine the event logs on the IOPs for more information. You may see this message when a fault occurs that results in the removal of the booting CE. • Diagnose the cause of the failure from the event logs and attempt to boot the CE again. • If the problem persists, contact your service provider for assistance. MtcCEX: MIC adapter is not configured for CE operation. Severity Error Description This message displays in a Windows NT blue screen on a monitor attached directly to a CE during CE operating system boot if the HP NetServer AA CE Transport detects that the CE MIC adapter is not properly configured for CE operations. Related Messages MtcCEX: Unable to initialize the MIC adapter. Status = 0xy Hardware/Software This message indicates an improperly configured MIC adapter. Action • Reset or power cycle the CE by turning it off and then back on. • When the MIC adapter BIOS executes, press Enter to enter the MIC BIOS setup program. • Configure the MIC adapter with the proper CE ID, save the settings, and exit the MIC BIOS setup program. • Reset the CE, and allow it to reboot. • If the problem persists, contact your service provider for assistance. 77
