Chapter 13 MtcMon Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: The number of processors in use by CE operating system (x) exceeds the maximum allowed for the current Endurance license. CE synchronization will be prohibited. Variables x - the number of processors in use by the CE operating system Severity Warning Description The number of processors in use by the CE executing the operating system exceeds the number allowed by the Endurance software installed in the IOP. While any single CE will be allowed to run the operating system in this situation, CE synchronization will be prohibited. Related Messages Hardware/Software IOPn.MtcMon status: CEx will not be synchronized because the number of processors in use by the CE operating system (y) exceeds the maximum allowed for the current Endurance license. This message is generated as a result of a mismatch between the capabilities allowed by the Endurance software license and the CE's hardware configuration. Action To synchronize the CEs, do one of the following: • Remove CPUs from the CEs so that the number in use matches the capabilities allowed by the Endurance software license installed on the IOPs. • Contact your service provider and purchase an Endurance license that allows the specified number of CPUs to be supported in the Endurance configuration. Reinstall the Endurance software using this new license on both IOPs and the CEs. IOPn.MtcMon status: The synchronization process has failed for CEx because the 16-bit platform initialization did not complete successfully. Variables x - the ID of the synchronizing CE Severity Error Description The specified CE could not be synchronized because the 16-bit platform initialization process failed. This process is performed via a module uploaded from the IOP and is based on the CE hardware platform specified during IOP installation of the Endurance software. Related Messages Hardware/Software IOPn.MtcMon status: CEx has been removed from service. This message is generated as a result of a software configuration error. Action • Verify that the CE hardware platforms are identical. • If they are not identical, replace one or both CEs so that the hardware platforms match. • Reinstall the Endurance software on the IOP that generated this event log entry. • If prompted, be sure to specify the hardware platform that matches the CE hardware type. • If the problem persists, record the error information displayed on the CE during boot, and contact your service provider for assistance. 289

Description
The number of processors in use by the CE executing the operating system exceeds the number
allowed by the Endurance software installed in the IOP. While any single CE will be allowed
to run the operating system in this situation, CE synchronization will be prohibited.

will not be synchronized because the number of
processors in use by the CE operating system (y) exceeds the maximum
allowed for the current Endurance license.
Hardware/Software
This message is generated as a result of a mismatch between the capabilities allowed by the
Endurance software license and the CE
s hardware configuration.
Action
To synchronize the CEs, do one of the following:
Remove CPUs from the CEs so that the number in use matches the capabilities allowed by
the Endurance software license installed on the IOPs.
Contact your service provider and purchase an Endurance license that allows the specified
number of CPUs to be supported in the Endurance configuration. Reinstall the Endurance
software using this new license on both IOPs and the CEs.

Hardware/Software
This message is generated as a result of a software configuration error.
Action
Verify that the CE hardware platforms are identical.
If they are not identical, replace one or both CEs so that the hardware platforms match.
Reinstall the Endurance software on the IOP that generated this event log entry.
If prompted, be sure to specify the hardware platform that matches the CE hardware type.
If the problem persists, record the error information displayed on the CE during boot, and
contact your service provider for assistance.
