Variables x - the ID of the IOP that had an error during activation Severity Error Description An error occurred while attempting to join an IOP into an Endurance server that has an active CE. The active IOP was attempting to activate the joining IOP with the CE, and a failure occurred. A problem has occurred with the ESI between the active CE and the joining IOP. Related Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: The join process has failed for IOPx. Hardware/Software This condition usually indicates a hardware failure in the active CE, the joining IOP, or the ESI between them. Action • Verify that the ESI is valid and properly connected. • Reboot the joining IOP and allow it to rejoin the Endurance server configuration. Refer to Chapter 9 in HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator's Guide for information about how to reboot an IOP. IOPn.MtcMon status: An error occurred loading the thresholding database on the joining IOP. IOP initialization and joining will be retried. Severity Error Description This message is generated during the IOP joining process that occurs when an IOP starts up. An unexpected error occurred on the IOP that was joining the Endurance server configuration when it was loading the thresholding database from the remote IOP. Related Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: IOPx is faulted and requires repair. IOPn.MtcMon status: The join process has failed for IOPx. Hardware/Software This message indicates a software error. Action This message is thresholded when it occurs. If the threshold is not exceeded, the IOP joining process is retried and is successful in most cases. If the threshold is exceeded, the joining IOP is marked faulted. This failure occurs as a result of a corruption in the Windows NT Registry that can be fixed by re-installing Endurance server software. 227
