Chapter 13 MtcMon Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: The CE CPUx feature sets do not match. CE1 CPU ID register set = 0xy. CE2 CPU ID register set = 0xz. Variables x - the ID of incompatible CPUs y - the CPUx feature set information in CE1 z - the CPUx feature set information in CE2 Severity Error Description The CPU feature set information for CPUx in CEs 1 and 2 is not identical. The CEs cannot be synchronized unless the CPU IDs in each CE match exactly. Hardware/Software The message is generated as a result of a hardware configuration error in the CEs. Action To resolve this condition, do one of the following: • Power down one of the CEs and replace its CPU with one with identical feature set information to CPUx in the active CE. • Power down both CEs and replace CPUx in both CEs with CPUs with identical feature set information. Note that the CPUs must all match in family, model, and stepping specifications. IOPn.MtcMon status: The CE CPU ID 0xx internal caches do not match. Variables x - the ID of the incompatible CPUs Severity Error Description The specified CPU contains inconsistent cache configurations across the two CEs. This may indicate a difference in processors. CE synchronization cannot be performed until this condition is resolved. Related Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: The CE CPUx model and/or family types are not compatible. Hardware/Software This message is generated as a result of a CE hardware configuration error. Action • Shut down one or both CEs. • If only one CE was shut down, replace the specified CPU with a CPU containing a cache configuration that is identical to that of the other CPU. If both CEs were shut down, replace the CPUs in both CEs with CPUs containing identical cache configurations. Note that the CPUs must all match in family, model, and stepping specifications. • Power up the CE(s) and allow them to synchronize. 273
