Chapter 14 MtcScsiP and MtcScsiR Messages IOPn.MtcScsiP status: Unable to remap bad block at SECTOR for DISKn during a mirror copy. Variables n - the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2 SECTOR - the sector number of the sector unable to be remapped Severity Error Description During a mirror set copy, the source disk encountered a bad block. The software attempted to remap the bad block, but the attempt failed. There may be no more spare blocks to permit a remap, and the disk may need replacement. Action • Use the HP NetServer AA Manager to reset the mirror copy. A new mirror copy will be started. • If the new mirror copy also fails, then check the SCSI termination and cabling for problems. • If you find no problems, back up all data from the source disk, and replace the source disk. See Chapter 9 in HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator's Guidefor details on replacing a mirrored disk. Note: The bad spot on the disk may or may not affect the integrity of the file system. Whether it has an effect will become apparent as you attempt to back up your data. IOPn.MtcScsiP status: Unable to reset HP NetServer AA partition for DISKn. Variables n - the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2 Severity Error Description An attempt was made to reset the HP NetServer AA partition for the specified disk. However, the attempt failed. Check the event log for previous entries to determine the reason for the failure. Most likely, reasons include the disk was not found; the disk has failed; or the disk is not accessible. Action • Reboot the IOP and determine why the disk was not found. • Check for a powered-off state, the disk not being connected to SCSI bus, or a faulted disk. • If the condition persists, contact your service provider for assistance. 348
