Default Configuration Disabled. Command Modes Global configuration User Guidelines • This command can be enabled when all the ports are Access ports. • This command is relevant in MSTP mode only. • When this feature is enabled incoming IEEE RSTP/STP packets would be mapped to the MSTP instance according to the port's VLAN. Outgoing MSTP packets would be mapped to IEEE RSTP/STP packets according to the port's VLAN. Example The following example configures the switch to convert STP/RSTP packets to MSTP instances. Console(config)# spanning-tree mst mstp-rstp Spanning-tree guard root Use the spanning-tree guard root interface configuration command to enable root guard on all the spanning tree instances on that interface. Root guard restricts the interface to be the root port for the switch. Use the no form of this command to disable root guard on the interface. Syntax spanning-tree guard root no spanning-tree guard root Default Configuration Root guard is disabled Command Modes Interface configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) User Guidelines • Root guard can be enabled when the switch work in STP, RSTP and MSTP.
