APPENDIX APPENDIX 20. PAPER CASSETTE INFORMATION (FOR EUROPE ONLY) The paper cassette fitted to the printer is different from the service manual information for printers shipped to Europe as follows:- (1) The paper cassette supplied with the HL1850/1870N printer has a plastic rib on the paper tray cover. (2) The plastic rib is removed from the tray cover for the paper cassette supplied with the LT-500, (optional Lower Tray Unit) as shown on the right; Paper tray cover Plastic rib Cutting position Fig. A- 14 (3) If the optional LT-500 Lower Tray Unit is installed onto the HL-1850/1870N printer, it is necessary to exchange the cassette supplied with the LT-500 Unit with the upper cassette already fitted into the printer. Install the cassette originally fitted in the printer into the LT500 Unit. Failure to do so will cause paper jams as the paper cannot be fed from the lower cassette to the printer body because the plastic rib on the paper tray cover is blocking the paper path. (4) For paper cassettes supplied as spare parts, the plastic rib has been cut off so that you can use it as both an upper cassette and lower cassette. A-28

APPENDIX
20.
PAPER
CASSETTE
INFORMATION
(FOR
EUROPE
ONLY)
The
paper
cassette
fitted
to
the
printer
is
different
from
the
service
manual
information
for
printers
shipped
to
Europe
as
follows:
-
(1)
The
paper
cassette
supplied
with
the
HL
-
1850/1870N
printer
has
a
plastic
rib
on
the
paper
tray
cover.
(2)
The
plastic
rib
is
removed
from
the
tray
cover
for
the
paper
cassette
supplied
with
the
LT
-500,
(optional
Lower
Tray
Unit)
as
shown

(3)
If
the
optional
LT
-500
Lower
Tray
Unit
is
installed
onto
the
HL
-1850/1870N
printer,
it
is
necessary
to
exchange
the
cassette
supplied
with
the
LT
-500
Unit
with
the
upper
cassette
already
fitted
into
the
printer.
Install
the
cassette
originally
fitted
in
the
printer
into
the
LT
-
500
Unit.
Failure
to
do
so
will
cause
paper
jams
as
the
paper
cannot
be
fed
from
the
lower
cassette
to
the
printer
body
because
the
plastic
rib
on
the
paper
tray

blocking
the
paper
path.
(4)
For

that
you
can
use
it
as
