Windows CE Thin Client User Manual
APPENDIX B
Aironet Wireless LAN
Configuration
This appendix decribes how to configure your thin client to use a
Cisco Aironet 340 or 350 series PCI wireless Ethernet adapter.
Enabling the USB Controller
If you are using a Neoware thin client that was shipped prior to July
1st 2001, you will need to enable the USB controller in the BIOS in
order to install and use the Cisco Aironet 340/350 internal wireless
Ethernet card. Neoware thin clients shipped after July 1st 2001
already have the USB controller enabled. If your thin client was
purchased after this date you do not need to follow the BIOS set-
ting instructions.
Note that once a wireless Ethernet card is installed in your thin cli-
ent, the integrated 10/100 BaseT Ethernet (RJ-45) port is no longer
functional. However, all thin client functions work through the
wireless Ethernet connection, including Neoware Remote Manager
and ezAnywhere shadowing functions.
To set the USB Controller setting in the BIOS to Enabled:
1
Power off the Neoware thin client and disconnect all cables.
2
Open the casing of the thin client and insert the Wireless Ether-
net Card into the PCI slot.
3
Replace the thin client casing and re-attach cables.
4
Power the thin client back on.
