Specifying input parameters Figure 2-1. Sample BLOCK command diagram CODE command Defines a character code translation table. When you require a user defined character code translation table, you define the character translation using this command, then reference the CODE command using the VOLUME CODE parameter. As an alternative, you can use the USER option of the VOLUME CODE parameter to reference the CODE command for which no identifier was provided. ac identifier A command identifier of the type ac is optional for the first CODE command within a JDE. Thereafter, each additional CODE command must include the identifier. The ac identifier consists of 1 to 6 alphanumeric characters (A through Z and 0 through 9). One of the characters must be alphabetic. CODE command parameters The following table summarizes the CODE command parameters. Table 2-15. Summary of CODE command parameters Parameter Specifies CODE ASSIGN Defines user code assignments. CODE DEFAULT Specifies a base code from which character code assignment exceptions can be made.
