Using Dynamic Job Descriptor Entries (DJDEs) Restrictions on job parameter modification To process a DJDE, the system must process data up to the recognition and interpretation of the DJDE itself. This sequence requires that the basic description of the input source must be correct before the application of the DJDE. Therefore, you must not change the description of the input source with DJDEs, either by accident or by intent. The system also does not allow certain basic parameters to be changed through the selected JDE (the JDE specified by the JDE DJDE). NOTE: CODE changes to data may occur and take effect on the page boundary following the DJDE record. If a translation code change is involved in a selected JDE, the parameter portion of any subsequent DJDE must be in the new code. The prefix used by the IDEN must, however, retain the original hexadecimal value. Thus, if the CODE changes from EBCDIC to ASCII, the prefix must remain in EBCDIC even though the parameter portion changes to ASCII. Parameters that cannot be changed through a JDE DJDE The parameters that cannot be changed through a JDE that is specified in the JDE DJDE are listed in the following table. Table 5-1.
