Specifying input parameters • The printing system accepts lowercase characters expressed literally or symbolically; that is, preceded by the pound sign (#) functioning as a switch case operator. The following table gives some examples of how the TCODE command may be coded to specify the following types of character sets. Table 2-51. Specifying various types of character sets Type Interpretation 1 Defines numeric characters (0 through 9) by default. 2 Defines alphabetic characters (A through Z and a through z) by default. 3 Defines uppercase alphabetic characters (A through Z) by TCODE command. 4 Defines lowercase alphabetic characters (a through z) by TCODE command. None Defines characters that are neither numeric nor alphabetic. • The TCODE command requires a variable of the type ac (at least one character must be alphabetic).
