Usage Guidelines You can enable the BPDU filtering feature when the switch is operating in the per-VLAN spanning-tree plus (PVST+), rapid-PVST+, or the multiple spanning-tree (MST) mode. Caution Enabling BPDU filtering on an interface is the same as disabling spanning tree on it and can result in spanning-tree loops. You can globally enable BPDU filtering on all Port Fast-enabled interfaces by using the spanning-tree portfast bpdufilter default global configuration command. You can use the spanning-tree bpdufilter interface configuration command to override the setting of the spanning-tree portfast bpdufilter default global configuration command.
