Chapter 2 Catalyst 3560 Switch Cisco IOS Commands define interface-range define interface-range Use the define interface-range global configuration command to create an interface-range macro. Use the no form of this command to delete the defined macro. define interface-range macro-name interface-range no define interface-range macro-name interface-range Syntax Description macro-name interface-range Name of the interface-range macro; up to 32 characters. Interface range; for valid values for interface ranges, see "Usage Guidelines." Defaults This command has no default setting. Command Modes Global configuration Command History Release 12.1(19)EA1 Modification This command was introduced. Usage Guidelines The macro name is a 32-character maximum character string. A macro can contain up to five ranges. All interfaces in a range must be the same type; that is, all Fast Ethernet ports, all Gigabit Ethernet ports, all EtherChannel ports, or all VLANs, but you can combine multiple interface types in a macro. When entering the interface-range, use this format: • type {first-interface} - {last-interface} • You must add a space between the first interface number and the hyphen when entering an interface-range. For example, gigabitethernet 0/1 - 2 is a valid range; gigabitethernet 0/1-2 is not a valid range Valid values for type and interface: • vlan vlan-id - vlan-ID, where the VLAN ID is 1 to 4094 VLAN interfaces must have been configured with the interface vlan command (the show running-config privileged EXEC command displays the configured VLAN interfaces). VLAN interfaces not displayed by the show running-config command cannot be used in interface-ranges. • port-channel port-channel-number, where port-channel-number is from 1 to 48 • fastethernet module/{first port} - {last port} • gigabitethernet module/{first port} - {last port} 78-16405-05 Catalyst 3560 Switch Command Reference 2-67
