The state can be: • Unknown, indicating that the number of utilization samples available is less than the threshold interval. • Normal, indicating that sufficient utilization samples are available, and the measured value is less than or equal to the threshold value. • Exceeded, indicating that sufficient utilization samples are available, and the measured value is greater than the threshold value. Displaying virtual machine guest performance 1. From the HP SIM console, click a virtual machine guest. 2. Click the VM Performance tab. 3. Select the appropriate time frame at the top of the screen for which to display information. Virtual machine performance The following performance information is provided for VMware ESX Server, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005, HP integrated Citrix XenServer, and Hyper-V hosts, except where noted: • Virtual processor utilization (vCPU)-The CPU percentage consumed by the virtual machine relative to the resource allocation. The Host Processor Utilization on 1 CPU value is reported. • Host processor utilization on x CPUs-The CPU percentage consumed by the virtual machine relative to the number of physical processors (x) on which the virtual machine can execute (HP integrated Citrix XenServer). • Host processor utilization on all CPUs-The CPU consumed by this virtual machine, relative to the total virtual machine host processors (HP integrated Citrix XenServer). • Memory utilization-The physical host memory used by this virtual machine. The utilization bar indicates the virtual machine memory utilization as a percentage of the physical memory configured on the virtual machine host (HP integrated Citrix XenServer). • Network throughput-The network traffic transmitted and received by this virtual machine. The utilization bar indicates the virtual machine network throughput as a percentage of the total network throughput on the virtual machine host (HP integrated Citrix XenServer). • Network transmit throughput-The network traffic transmitted by this virtual machine.
