Configuring a DNS server If no DNS server exists in the server network, update the host files on both the HP SIM and VPM servers (if separate) with the IP address and Network Naming. These files are located at C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\etc. The target systems must be able to resolve the VPM server name to an IP address. The server host name where HP SIM and Vulnerability and Patch Management are installed must be correctly configured for name resolution and reverse lookup. To determine if DNS is properly configured, use the nslookup command, passing both the host IP address and the fully qualified hostname.
