Replacing supply items Use the following instructions to replace the supplies. Changing print cartridges Replace a print cartridge when a REPLACE CARTRIDGE message appears on the control-panel display. The control-panel display also indicates the color that should be replaced (unless a genuine HP cartridge is not currently installed). 1 Open the top cover. Grasp the green handle on the transfer unit and pull it down. The front cover opens as you pull down the transfer unit. CAUTION Do not place anything on the transfer unit while it is open. If the transfer unit is punctured, print quality problems can result. 2 Remove the used print cartridge from the printer. 92 Chapter 4 Maintenance ENWW
